Is this food safe to consume or to feed my family?
Is it really what it says on the label – am I getting what I paid for?
Is the production or harvest of this harming the environment? Is this product from a sustainable resource?
At the same time, regulators are working hard to bring security to, and restore confidence in, the food marketplace, leading to tighter controls and increasing demands for timely and accurate product data.
Meeting this challenge will require buyers, marketers and regulators to share critical information throughout the entire supply chain, from company to company, and from source to sale. Companies that can do this well will be in a position to better manage risk and compete more effectively.
